While honeymooning in Japan, a traveler chose to preserve the memory of her maiden name with a custom kanji tattoo. Discover the story behind this meaningful souvenir in Osaka.

During their honeymoon trip to Japan, a lovely couple from overseas visited our studio in Osaka with a very special request.
The bride, who had just taken her husband’s last name, wanted to preserve a part of her identity — her maiden name — in a way that would stay with her forever. But instead of writing it out in letters, she asked us to create a kanji tattoo that matched the pronunciation of her old surname.
We explored several kanji combinations together, making sure the meaning, visual balance, and phonetic match felt just right. After thoughtful consultation, we created a design that not only echoed her name’s sound but also carried a beautiful meaning related to strength and elegance.
This tattoo became more than just ink on skin — it was a symbol of her personal history, her journey into a new chapter, and a memory from a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Japan.
At our studio, we welcome travelers from around the world who want to take home more than souvenirs — they want stories, memories, and expressions of who they are. Whether it’s your first tattoo or your tenth, we’re here to help you make it meaningful.

If you’re planning a trip to Japan and want to create your own unforgettable memory, feel free to contact us in advance. We offer custom kanji design consultations, English-speaking support, and a comfortable, private space in the heart of Osaka.
